This work was commissioned by the composer Roger Goula as a visual accompaniment to his album of the same name. The Overview Effect is a phenomenon that occurs to astronauts as they view the totality of planet Earth. A reverence for the fragile beauty of the planetary ecology gives them this spiritual epiphany of the overview effect. We translated this idea into the micro-turbulences of fluids that reminisce global weather patterns and cellular life systems.
